The chain reaction system uses proximity detection algorithms that scan a 120-pixel radius around each coin impact point. When three or more coins of matching value collide within 0.3 seconds, the merge protocol activates, combining their values and applying a 1.5x multiplier to the resulting coin. This multiplier stacks exponentially during combo sequences, reaching up to 8x for five consecutive merges. The combo timer resets after 2 seconds of inactivity, forcing strategic timing decisions.

Stack stability mechanics evaluate the center of gravity for all active coins every frame. When the collective mass shifts beyond 15 degrees from vertical equilibrium, the collapse sequence initiates.
